Recommendations
For first time users who want to thoroughly clean their bed of dust mite matter, we recommend removing blankets, sheets, pillowcases and pillows and washing with hot water. Follow the care instructions for each item as marked on its tag. Use RAYCOP to clean your mattress, preferably both sides. Very slowly glide RAYCOP across the mattress to allow enough UV light exposure and suction to thoroughly clean the buildup of dust mite matter, bacteria and viruses. If pillows or blankets were unable to be put in the washing machine, use RAYCOP on those items as well.
To minimize future dust mite populations from living within the fabrics, we recommend encasing the mattress and pillows in dust mite covers. Dust mites can still live on the surface of these covers however, so regular cleaning with RAYCOP is needed. Dust mites are very difficult to eliminate completely, as they are microscopic in size and reproduce quickly. Following the cleaning guide above and using RAYCOP frequently in the first weeks will greatly reduce the dust mite population in your mattress, pillows and bedding. Regularly using RAYCOP on all your household fabrics will help control the allergen levels in your home, allowing you to breathe and sleep better.
Getting Started: The Basics
After plugging in your RAYCOP, press the red lighted button for a few seconds. When it turns green, it is in stand-by mode. Press again to start. For the RS, keep pressing to select the appropriate operating mode.
Push and pull the device slowly along the fabric, like you would when ironing clothes. Moving slowly allows more thorough removal of allergens. Keeping the unit flat ensures no disruption of UV light – lifting or angling the device causes the UV light to shut off as a safety feature.
For additional instructions about how to use and maintain your RAYCOP, consult your Quick Start Guide that came with your device, or watch the How-To videos, linked to the right.
